A grocery store employee in a North York location has tested positive for COVID-19 this week as the province continues to see a rise in cases.

According to Metro, the store was notified of the positive COVID-19 test on September 14 from their Metro Bathurst and Lawrence location, 3090 Bathurst Street.

The employee’s last day of work was September 11.

Earlier this month, a Markham Food Basics location also reported a positive case among one of their employees on September 6.

Metro has previously shared cases of coronavirus at locations including Parkway Mall, West Queen West, Bloor and Spadina, College and Shaw, The Cold Chain Produce Distribution Centre, and more.

“We will always contact and follow the guidance of Public Health to ensure the safety of our teammates and customers whenever we are made aware of a confirmed case of COVID-19 in one of our food stores or distribution centres,” reads Metro’s website.

The grocer says its online tracker is continually being updated in an effort to keep the public aware of where cases have been confirmed.
