Toronto is about to be overrun with giant furry animals

No, Toronto’s sports teams didn’t get new mascots.

The Furnal Equinox is returning to Toronto’s Harbourfront for another exciting fur-filled weekend. Get ready to see plenty of costume-clad Torontonians running around the city this month.

Running March 16 to 18 at the Westin Harbour Castle, this event celebrates the art and culture of furry fandom and animal enthusiasts alike.

Since its humble beginning in 2010, the convention has grown into a massive phenomenon that attracts thousands of international attendees and hosts a wide range of events and performances.

Attendees can look forward to a weekend packed with programming that includes panels, a dance competition, a furry masquerade, a fur-suit fiesta, and plenty of socializing opportunities.

As a non-profit event, the convention’s focus is primarily on sharing and celebrating anthropomorphic (humanized) arts and culture, all while fundraising for Ontario-based animal charities.

So whether you’re an animal lover or looking to explore this colourful community, there’s a little something for everyone at Furnal Equinox.
