Now that fall is well underway, it can only mean one thing: winter flu season is coming and it’s ready to make your life miserable.

While eating fruits and veggies and stocking up on vitamins are key for beating the bug, getting vaccinated may be your best bet to avoid getting the flu altogether this year.

Luckily for Torontonians, Toronto Public Health will be offering FREE flu shots at various locations throughout the city on various dates in November.

The free flu shot is especially important for young children, pregnant women, and people 65 years and older who are at high risk of flu-related complications.

The city says the shot is available at family doctor and nurse practitioner offices, public health units, and participating pharmacies for anyone five years of age or older.

For children between six months and four years old, the shot can be administered by a doctor or nurse practitioner.
