You can see incredible fall foliage aboard a heritage train this fall

Whether you’re ready for it or not, fall will be here before you know it.

And the start of autumn means the chance to take in the beautiful changing foliage.

Luckily for us, there are plenty of places to watch the leaves change colour right here in our own backyard. The real gold, however, can be found just north of downtown, especially within the Oakridges Moraine.

But rather than experiencing the view from your car, York-Durham Heritage Railway is inviting the public to enjoy the beauty of the fall colours on board its 1950s heritage train.

On select dates this October, foliage enthusiasts of all ages can enjoy a heated train ride, giving passengers ample time to take in the sights and colours of the season.

On Saturdays, passengers can enjoy a 90-minute train ride from Uxbridge Station to Goodwood Station and back.

The Sunday train ride lasts for just over three hours and departs from Uxbridge Station to Stouffville Station and back. There will also be on-board entertainment for the entire family to enjoy.

The heritage trains are equipped with a wheelchair accessible washroom, snack bar, open-door baggage car, and a souvenir stand.
