It's going to feel as cold as -23°C in Toronto this morning

Toronto is in for an icy morning to cap off the work week.

The city woke up to -6°C temperatures according to Environment Canada, but with the windchill, it feels more like -23°C.

It won’t get much better as the day progresses, either. The forecast calls for a mix of sun and clouds but the high today is only expected to reach -8°C.

These freezing temperatures come a day after the City issued the first Extreme Cold Weather Alert of the year for Toronto.

However, based on information from Environment Canada, Dr. Eileen de Villa, Toronto’s Medical Officer of Health, has terminated the Extreme Cold Weather Alert as of noon today.

So that’s something to look forward to at least.

Luckily for Toronto, tonight won’t be nearly as cold as last night when it felt like -24°C with the windchill.

Environment Canada is forecasting a low of -9°C, which will feel more like -13°C with the windchill.

Regardless of what you get up to this Friday, remember to bundle up in all the layers. It’s going to be very cold.
