These are the coronavirus assessment centre locations in Toronto

Jun 3 2020, 7:57 pm

A number of dedicated coronavirus assessment centres have been established across the Greater Toronto Area to facilitate assessment and treatment.

According to the City of Toronto, Toronto Public Health (TPH) is not an assessment centre and coronavirus testing is not provided at TPH offices. Assessments are made at no cost to individuals and OHIP coverage is not required to be seen at the centres.

Those who are experiencing at least one of the following symptoms should visit an assessment centre:

  • Fever
  • New or worsening cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Sore throat
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • New olfactory or taste disorder(s)
  • Nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain
  • Runny nose, or nasal congestion – in absence of underlying reason for these symptoms such as seasonal allergies, postnasal drip, etc.

There are also atypical symptoms of coronavirus. These symptoms should also be considered, particularly in children, older persons, and people living with a developmental disability.

Additionally, the City says those who are asymptomatic and were in close contact with someone who has coronavirus, are concerned you may have been exposed to someone who might have the illness, or are at high risk for getting the virus through your work, you may be recommended for a testing consultation with public health.
