Chinese New Year falls on February 5, this year.
The massive celebration, known as Spring Festival in China, marks the first day on the Chinese lunar calendar and the start of Year of the Pig.
Although the traditional holiday period is 23 days, Mainland China will be celebrating the new year over seven days from February 4 to 10.

Chinese New Year Gala
The sixth annual CNTV Chinese New Year Celebration Gala returns to Toronto this February, and it’s known for being the largest extravaganza for the Chinese Community. Over eight hundred elite artists from Mainland China and Canada perform in the preeminent social networking event for the Chinese community.

Chinese New Year Count Down at Pacific Mall
Head to the largest indoor Chinese mall in North America to start the Chinese New Year celebrations! Entertainment starts at 10 pm and leads to the countdown at midnight for the arrival of the Year of the Pig. Celebrations at Pacific Mall continue until February 9.

Dragon Ball 2019
The tradition continues! The Yee Hong Community Wellness Foundation’s annual benefit gala returns to celebrate Chinese New Year. Guests can look forward to a variety of exquisite cuisines in addition to a four-course dinner and silent and live auctions.

Lunar New Year: The Year of the Pig
You can celebrate the Year of the Pig as you learn how an Italian painter became one of the most beloved artists for three emperors in the Qing Dynasty and contributed to the Chinese paintings today. Visitors can also get hands-on and make their own Pig Hero paper lantern, then take a money bath and hit the “gong” for good fortune.

Toronto Chinese New Year Ball
The Hong Kong-Canada Business Association celebrates the Year of the Pig with a ball that includes traditional lion dancing, Chinese games, food, silent auctions and more.
