The Toronto Blue Jays and Miami Marlins were able to put together a trade this morning that saw some pitchers swapped.
The Blue Jays were able to add right-handed pitcher Robinson Piña from the Marlins. The 25-year-old has started 11 games with Jacksonville-Triple A this season, posting a 3.47 ERA along with 54 strikeouts and a 4-3 record through 57 innings.
The 6-foot-5 pitcher has yet to appear in the Majors throughout his professional career, but has also spent time in the LA Angels and Philadelphia Phillies organizations.
In exchange for Piña, the Blue Jays parted ways with another right-handed pitcher in Colby Martin. The 24-year-old has spent the 2025 season with the Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays, posting a 1.61 ERA through 22.1 innings. He was a very intriguing prospect within the organization, showing just how confident the Jays brass is in Piña.

What Piña provides the Jays with, at least for the time being, is a starting option at the Triple-A level, which they need in a big way right now. Injuries and inconsistent play from their rotation have hampered both the Blue Jays and their Triple-A affiliate so far this 2025 season.
Piña has three option years remaining, which gives the Blue Jays plenty of roster flexibility going forward.
