Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Jeff Hoffman seems to be fully embracing his new roots.
The 32-year-old closer, who was originally drafted ninth overall by the Blue Jays in 2014, chose to sign a three-year, $30 million deal in Toronto this past offseason. Despite being born in America, he appears to be doing everything he can to embrace both his new city and country.

On Thursday, the Blue Jays uploaded a video of Hoffman making a run to Tim Hortons in his full gear.
“I drink coffee every morning,” Hoffman says in the clip. “I have four kids, so coffee is usually the best way that I can start my day. I feel like the best way to do that here in Canada is to make a Tim Hortons run.”
Hoffman showed up at the popular Canadian fast food chain with a large list of items his teammates had requested.
“I have a bit of a big order that the guys sent me over with,” Hoffman said. “I hope we can get it done before game time.”
He went on to request a ridiculously long order that included eight large double doubles, 12 large coffees, four large iced coffees, three large iced cappuccinos, one vanilla latte, one large frozen lemonade, and several food items, including 50 Timbits.
“The guys are going to be excited, very excited,” said Hoffman, who had help carrying the large order from Tim Horton’s staff members.
This was a nice little gesture by the Blue Jays, and gives fans yet another reason to support Hoffman. Though his 4.71 ERA on the season isn’t spectacular, he’s already racked up 20 saves and has gone scoreless in 27 of his 36 appearances. He has had a big part in the Jays’ impressive 48-38 record through the first 86 games of the season.
