Andres Gimenez is returning tonight for the Toronto Blue Jays — and that means that there’s a few roster moves on the way.
Along with Tyler Heineman, Gimenez is being reinstated from the injured list for tonight’s game against the Philadelphia Phillies.

In a series of subsequent moves, infielder Michael Stefanic and catcher Ali Sánchez have been designated for assignment, meaning they’ll either be traded or placed on waivers in the coming days, and their time with the organization is likely to come to an end.
Sanchez had two hits in just 11 at-bats with the Jays this season, and has played 43 games over the course of his MLB career, also playing with the Miami Marlins, New York Mets, and St. Louis Cardinals.
Stefanic had four hits in 25 at-bats this season for Toronto, playing parts of three previous seasons with the Los Angeles Angels.
In other Blue Jays news for the day, pitcher Jose Urena — who had been with the Jays this season but designated for assignment over the weekend — signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers as a free agent.
Urena made two starts with the Jays and appeared in six games overall, posting a respectable 3.65 ERA through a combined 12.1 innings.
