A new physically distanced event series is being brought to the Drive-In this summer, for a good cause.

“Together at the Drive-In” will be bringing Toronto together in an “immersive and safe manner.” Organizers also plan to help the hardest hit communities from both COVID-19 and social injustice.

“Imagine a family friendly, art, music and entertainment spectacle at your local drive-in, featuring live performers, DJs, and artists, showcasing their talent and celebrating our communities. The two-day series features a film each night after the concerts,” reads the event website.

Proceeds from ticket sales will be going towards supporting community groups, artists and purchasing meals from hospitality and food partners. The purchased meals will be donated to shelters, food banks and communities in need.

One ticket purchased will be equal to three meals. One of the purchased meals will be from a restaurant partner and the other two will be through Second Harvest Food Rescue.

The event is currently set for July, although the exact date and location is yet to be announced.

“Our work is powered by a coalition of socially minded business owners, community organizers, passionate private citizens, and generous donors,” they said on their website.
