The Toronto International Film Festival kicked off yesterday, which means celebrities have officially begun descending on Toronto.
Day 1 kicked off with a pre-party at Weslodge ahead of the premiere of the film, The Personal History of David Copperfield, an adaptation of Charles Dickens’s classic novel, directed by Armando Iannucci.
The premiere of Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and The Band took over the RBC-Red Carpet Gallery. The film is a Canadian documentary, directed by Daniel Roher, that’s a portrait of the influential roots rock group The Band and is based in part on Robbie Robertson’s 2017 memoir testimony.
Weslodge also welcomed the cast of Castle in the Ground. The film follows a teenager after the untimely death of his mother and befriends his charismatic but troubled next-door neighbour and becomes embroiled in a world of addiction and violence just as the opioid epidemic takes hold of their small town.
