Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Toronto.
Perhaps you’ve already noticed the dark, ominous clouds clinging low above the city or felt the first spats of rain as they hit you on your way home from work.
Or maybe you’re just wondering why you’re working with a lamp on all of a sudden. Well, the silver lining in this cloud is that it’s not because you’re losing your eyesight, rather it’s due to our friend the weather, and its insistence on making tonight suck.
According to a release from Environment Canada at 5:09pm today, their “meteorologists are tracking a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts and heavy rain.”
And if you’re wondering what kind of weather it is exactly that earns itself such a stern warning it’s this:
Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
So ya, those patio plans you had tonight? Probably not going to happen.
On the plus side. Netflix exists.
