There is a severe thunderstorm risk in Toronto today, as the heat is set to return this week.
The Weather Network says that parts of Ontario potentially include a risk of a tornado on Thursday.
Ontario has seen a short break from extreme heat and thunderstorms that have recently gusted over the province. But, both the heat and storms are predicted to return to the south of the province at the end of this week.
Thursday may bring severe thunderstorms to Ontario with the chance of a “tornado or two” just a short distance from Toronto, in the Niagara region, according to the Weather Network.
Hot weather is expected to arrive back to the province on Friday, with the return of 30°C daytime highs. The humidex is also predicted to be at or above 40°C.
Moving forward to the weekend, Saturday will be warmer than the day before with temperatures reaching 34°C but feeling like 40°C. Sunday brings a risk of thunderstorms and will feel like 42°C.
The rain is expected to stop for one day–on Monday, but Tuesday and Wednesday see rain in their forecast.
The humidex will remain above 30°C throughout the week.
For now, don’t forget your umbrella.
