16-year-old identified as victim of fatal Thorncliffe Park shooting

A 16-year-old has been identified as the victim of a fatal shooting on Sunday evening in the Thorncliffe Park area.

According to Toronto Police, on April 5, at approximately 10:42 pm, officers responded to a call for a shooting at 5 Leaside Park Drive.

Police say when officers arrived on scene, they located a male with apparent gunshot wounds inside a motor vehicle.

Paramedics began life-saving efforts, but police say the male succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The victim has been identified as Nazirullah Abdul-Rashid, of Toronto.

Investigators would like to thank those who have already come forward with information.

Police are also appealing to anyone who was in the area of 5 Leaside Park Drive between 10 – 11 pm, on Sunday, April 5, and heard or saw anything out of the ordinary, to speak with investigators.
