Tequila Bookworm closing after more than 25 years on Queen West

Dec 16 2019, 6:27 am

It’s a sad day for Queen West bar-crawlers, because Tequila Bookworm has announced that after “27! (28?)” years on the strip, it’ll shutter in January due to rent increase.

The cozy-meets-grungy bar offers an ideal setting to grab a pint or a cider at the end of a long workday, or share a plate of nachos amongst friends.

Knowledgable staff are always prepared to offer tastes of brews that are new to you, and can make suggestions based on your flavour preferences. It’s comfortable, friendly, and warm, and its departure from Queen West will be a true loss.

“Queen Street has changed so much in our many decades on the block, and unfortunately it’s time to say goodbye. Due to a recent rent hike, we will be closing at the end of January. But not before we celebrate!” reads the eatery’s Instagram post announcing its departure.

The spot is inviting old friends and new to come and enjoy the space while there’s still time, and you can expect to see the doors close for good at the end of January.
