A 34-year-old man from Richmond Hill has been charged in connection with a sexual assault investigation involving a teenage student.

According to York Regional Police, they have been investigating since February 3, after receiving information about sexual offences that occurred in 2011.

The case involved alleged suspect, who is identified as Christoper Ng, and a student who was 18-years-old at the time.

Ng has been working with the York Catholic District School Board as a high school teacher in Richmond Hill since 2010.

The charges are one count of sexual assault and two counts of sexual exploitation.

According to York Regional Police, a sexual assault is described as, “any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature.”

Even though the sexual assault was alleged to have taken place in 2011, the police encourage historical offences to be reported.
