You can get lost in this sunflower trail near Toronto this summer

Squeeze in one last summer day trip to Laura’s Farm Stand where you can venture through a sunflower field for free and take the best pictures.

The farm is located in Cookstown, Ontario, just an hour away from Toronto. Having opened in the first week of August, the sunflower trail will close for the season on September 7.

Luckily enough, the farm is open every day from 10 am to dusk, where you can get lost in thousands of sunflowers and enjoy the beauty of mother nature.

You can also bring your dog.

Over 80,000 sunflower seeds have been planted in two large fields, according to Laura Currie, the farmer behind the beautiful sunflower fields.

“We have 2 fields planted at different times so there is a whole month of beautiful blooms. This is my second year doing the sunflower trail and it has been quite a hit,” Currie told Daily Hive.

Despite the busy season they’ve experienced, health and safety measures have been put in place to ensure everyone is able to enjoy the flowers as much as possible.

For purchases, their stand is self-serve, offering contactless payment.

“What is unique about us is we operate as a self serve stand. We trust you can select your fresh produce and pay for it on your own while we are out in the field growing and harvest the produce you love. Our self serve stand is a simple and fun way to get your farm-fresh produce.”

In terms of distancing, the trail leads visitors on a one-way path, with social distancing in effect. No public washrooms are available.

“The sunflower trail is a busy time, it is so fun to see families come out and enjoy the field. My goal was to build an attraction for the community to come and enjoy and see the farm,” said Currie.

Remember, you have until September 7 to pay this farm a visit before it’s too late.
