Ontario’s Minister of Education has tested negative for COVID-19 after coming into contact with an individual who was diagnosed with the virus.

Minister Stephen Lecce underwent testing yesterday, June 9 and, as a result, Premier Ford and Minister Elliot will be getting tested today.

Out of an abundance of caution, neither Ford nor Elliot will participate in today’s press conference, the Premier’s Office said, before Lecce learned of his test results.

Both will continue to monitor for symptoms and take appropriate action as necessary.

The Premier’s Office says the public will be notified once test results for Ford and Elliot are received.

On Wednesday, Minister of Colleges and Universities Ross Romano said that all ministers should follow the physical distancing measures needed.
