Starbucks is officially closing all of its cafes across Canada

Mar 20 2020, 11:48 pm

Starbucks Canada has announced that effective immediately, all cafés will be closed and stores will move to drive-thru and delivery services only.

The news was released Friday in a letter from Starbucks Canada President Lori Digulla, who said that some exceptions will be made for those cafés serving in or around hospitals and health care centres.

“Today, we are making the decision to close access to our café’s altogether for two weeks and limiting our services to drive-thru and delivery only,” wrote Digulla.

Prior to this announcement, the coffee chain had temporarily closed company-operated Starbucks outposts on university campuses or located in malls that don’t have exterior/street access as they were deemed “high traffic” locations.
