One of Toronto’s most popular tourist destinations is launching a new weekly deal that will allow visitors to eat lunch for $15 or less.

It’s no secret that, across Canada, most of us are trying our best to pinch some pennies amid soaring food prices and general global uncertainty. It’s the responsible — if not necessary—thing to do, but let’s face it, when you’re trying to save some coin, it’s often great food that gets the axe first.

The people behind Stackt Market, North America’s largest shipping container shopping centre and one of the city’s hottest summertime destinations, are all too aware of the financial strain many Toronto residents and visitors are facing today, so they’re launching a new initiative that allows you to grab lunch from some of the city’s tastiest eateries for $15 or less.

Taking place every Wednesday from July 2 through Sept. 17, Lunch & Local is a new event series that, on top of offering major deals on the market’s droolworthy lineup of food vendors, is also serving up some seriously good times.

Each Wednesday, all seven of Stackt’s food vendors will participate with their own specific offerings that cap out at $15, so that you can rest assured that anything you order won’t be breaking the bank.

Just to give you a taste of some of the deals on the menu this summer, at Mondays Off, you can get your choice of three sliders or two hot dogs with a side of fries or salad for $15, while at Pampered Pig BBQ, you’ll be able to sink your teeth into a Chopped Brisket Sandwich or Brisket Mac n’ Cheese.

For something sweet, you can head over to Toronto’s viral self-serve acai bowl spot, Haydn’s, and create your own bowl for a flat rate of $15, or pick out five regular-priced cookies of your choice at Courage Cookies.

To top it all off, each instalment of Lunch & Local will feature live music from the market’s outdoor stage to keep the good vibes rolling. How’s that for hump day?
