Dec 4 2020, 8:58 pm

In partnership with the LCBO, SkipTheDishes will begin on-demand, direct-to-customer alcohol delivery starting Friday, December 4.

The program is launching through 15 LCBO locations across the city using the SkipTheDishes app or website.

Included in the offerings will be over 300 best-selling labels, including wine, beer, spirits and several locally made and sourced products. In a release, LCBO President and CEO George Soleas says the program is ideal for the imminent holiday season demand while keeping in mind the health and safety measures imposed during the pandemic.

“The strength of Skip’s technology and extensive delivery network makes them an ideal partner as we offer a safe, responsible and convenient on-demand delivery service for our customers,” says Soleas. “We anticipate it will be a great success over the holiday season, and we hope to expand the service further across the province in the new year.”

Ordering customers will also be able to choose from a selection of gift bags, boxes, and ice to include in their deliveries.

“We’re thrilled to be able to expand our offerings to our customers in Ontario through this partnership with the LCBO,” says Steve Puchala, Senior Vice President, Growth & Restaurant Success, SkipTheDishes, in a release. “In the lead up to the holidays, this service comes at the perfect time to bring the safety and convenience of alcohol home delivery to customers in Toronto.”

To ensure safe and legal delivery, all participating drivers have been Smart Serve-certified and will be following the AGCO’s guidelines on the sale of alcoholic products.

Failure to provide valid ID, recipients appearing to be intoxicated upon arrival, or attempting to purchase for a minor or impaired individual will result in delivery cancellation.

The service will be available Tuesdays through Sundays from 10 am to one hour before store closures. Delivery zones can be found on the SkipTheDishes app or website.
