Sid Seixeiro addresses high-profile departure from Breakfast Television
Sid Seixeiro has addressed his sudden departure from CityTV’s Breakfast Television.
The news was announced on-air today by former coworker Devo Brown, with co-host Meredith Shaw also being let go by the show.
“Hey guys. Confirming my last day at Breakfast Television was this past Friday. Thanks for letting me into your homes and for being so kind. Also, thank you to Rogers for over 13 years of support. They allowed me incredible freedom on-air and I’m grateful,” Seixeiro wrote in a post on X.

Seixeiro has hosted the show since 2021, while Shaw began in 2023 as a replacement for Dina Pugliese.
“It was an absolute honour getting to work with Meredith Shaw,” he added in a follow-up post. “She’s driven, she challenged me every day and made me a better broadcaster. I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for her. She’s just getting started.”
Seixeiro began his career with Rogers on Sportsnet, co-hosting the Tim & Sid show alongside Tim Micallef from 2011 until 2021, when Micallef took over the show as Tim & Friends.
Shaw also addressed the news on Instagram.

“Not gonna lie, this is hard. Deep breath. Thank you for welcoming me into your homes & hearts,” Shaw wrote in a post. “Thank you, Sid, for being a tremendous teammate and friend. You’re the best of the best and I love you.”

As part of this evolution, we have parted ways with Sid Seixeiro and Meredith Shaw. We thank them for sharing their passion and energy with audiences every morning and wish them both the very best,” a Rogers Sports and Media spokesperson wrote in an email to Daily Hive.
