Five Shoppers Drug Mart locations in Toronto and the GTA have reported several COVID-19 cases among their staff since October 13.
On Tuesday, a Shoppers Drug Mart location at 7235 Bellshire Gate in Mississauga reported a positive case of an employee.
The case was reported on October 13; however, the employee had last worked on October 7.
Two days later, on October 15, another employee at the 1859 Leslie Street Shoppers Drug Mart location had also reported a case.
The employee had last worked on October 10.
Three more cases were also reported on Thursday by Loblaw ltd.
Another employee at a separate Shoppers Drug Mart location, this time at 8000 Bathhurst Street in Thornhill, also tested positive for coronavirus. They had last worked on October 8.
In Toronto, the Shoppers Drug Mart located at 946 Lawrence Avenue East has also reported a coronavirus case among one of its employees. They had last worked on October 4.
A Shoppers Drug Mart at 4841 Yonge Street in Willowdale has also reported a positive case, and the employee had last worked on October 9.
Loblaw ltd., has also reported more cases in its grocery stores across the GTA such as Fortinos, Real Canadian Superstore, Loblaws, and No Frills in the past few days.

In an effort for transparency, Loblaws regularly updates their coronavirus cases in stores by province within the last 15 days.
“In addition, we have mandated that our staff and customers wear masks in Extra Foods, Fortinos, Maxi, No Frills, Real Canadian Superstores and T&T stores across Canada,” said Loblaws.
