More Toronto Shoppers Drug Mart employees test positive for COVID-19

More Shoppers Drug Mart locations in Toronto and the GTA have reported COVID-19 cases among their staff.

According to Loblaw Ltd., three separate Shoppers Drug Mart locations reported COVID-19 cases among their staff members over the weekend.

On November 15, an employee at a Shoppers Drug Mart located at 70 Eglinton Square tested positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. They had last worked on November 8.

The next day, two employees at a Shoppers Drug Mart located at 524 Queen Street West tested positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. They had last worked on November 4 and 10.

That same day, two employees at a Shoppers Drug Mart located at 629 Markham Road in Scarborough tested positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. They had last worked on November 6 and 8.

Loblaws company also reported several cases in grocery stores across the GTA, including other grocers such as Metro and Sobeys.

In an effort for transparency Loblaws regularly updates their coronavirus cases reported in stores by province within the last 15 days.

“In addition, we have mandated that our staff and customers wear masks in Extra Foods, Fortinos, Maxi, No Frills, Real Canadian Superstores, and T&T stores across Canada,” said Loblaws.
