Brampton Shoppers Drug Mart employee tests positive for COVID-19

Several Shoppers Drug Mart locations in Toronto and the GTA have reported COVID-19 cases among their staff over the past weekend.

In Monday’s update, five separate Shoppers Drug Mart locations reported cases in the GTA.

According to Loblaw Ltd., on November 20, a Shoppers Drug Mart employee tested positive on a presumptive coronavirus test. The employee at the 5425 Creditview Road location in Mississauga had last worked on November 15.

That same day, an employee at the Shoppers Drug Mart located at 10665 Bramalea Road in Brampton tested positive on a presumptive test for the virus. The last day they worked was November 14.

On November 21, an employee at a separate location, a Shoppers Drug Mart at 2900 Warden Avenue in Scarborough, reported positive on a presumptive test. The last day they worked was on November 15.

The next day, on November 22, an employee at Shoppers Drug Mart, 2225 Erin Mills Parkway in Mississauga, tested positive for COVID-19. The last day the team member had worked was November 15.

That same day, an employee at another Shoppers Drug Mart, 5100 Erin Mills Parkway in Mississauga, tested positive on a presumptive test. The last day they worked was on November 13.

Over the weekend, more Toronto and GTA grocery stores have reported positive cases among staff, as Ontario continues to see a spike in numbers.

In an effort for transparency, Loblaws regularly updates their coronavirus cases reported in stores by province within the last 15 days.

“In addition, we have mandated that our staff and customers wear masks in Extra Foods, Fortinos, Maxi, No Frills, Real Canadian Superstores, and T&T stores across Canada,” said Loblaws.
