Brampton Shoppers Drug Mart employee tests positive for COVID-19

Seven Toronto area Shoppers Drug Mart employees have tested positive for COVID-19, the company reported in the last two days.

According to parent company Loblaws Ltd., on January 27, an employee at the 701 Sheppard Avenue East location tested positive for the virus and had last worked on January 25.

That same day, the 1500 Woodbine Avenue location reported an employee testing positive for COVID-19. They had last worked in-store on January 21.

On January 27, a Brampton Shoppers Drug Mart, 25 Peel Centre Drive, reported an employee testing positive for COVID-19. The employee had last worked on January 25.

The company reported another employee at 1630 Danforth Avenue in Toronto testing positive for COVID-19 that same day. They last worked on January 22.

The next day, another Shoppers Drug Mart at 123 Rexdale Boulevard reported an employee testing positive for COVID-19. They had last worked on January 24.

On January 28, in North York, the 1597 Wilson Avenue location reported an employee testing positive for COVID-19. They had last worked on January 24.

In Toronto, the 1027 Yonge Street location reported on January 28 that an employee tested positive for the virus. The employee last worked on January 23.

This past week, the company also reported six more positive cases in some of its Toronto area locations including, North York, Scarborough, and Mississauga.

Loblaws updates their coronavirus cases reported in stores by province within the last 15 days in an effort for transparency.

“In addition, we have mandated that our staff and customers wear masks in Extra Foods, Fortinos, Maxi, No Frills, Real Canadian Superstores, and T&T stores across Canada,” said Loblaws.
