Scarborough Shoppers Drug Mart employee tests positive for COVID-19

Shoppers Drug Mart locations in Toronto and the GTA have reported COVID-19 cases among their staff.

Two separate Shoppers Drug Mart locations reported cases since last week.

On November 27, an employee at the Shoppers Drug Mart, 265 Port Union Road in Scarborough, tested positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19 and had last worked on November 22.

On December 1, another Shoppers Drug Mart employee tested positive on a presumptive test at 3975 Jane Street in North York. The last day they worked was on November 22.

In an effort for transparency, Loblaws regularly updates their coronavirus cases reported in stores by province within the last 15 days.

“In addition, we have mandated that our staff and customers wear masks in Extra Foods, Fortinos, Maxi, No Frills, Real Canadian Superstores, and T&T stores across Canada,” said Loblaws.
