Service Ontario to start offering appointments for busy locations
Service Ontario will start offering bookable appointments at busy locations in order to reduce lineups and minimize wait times.
The agency announced on Friday that the service will be available at 42 locations across the province. By helping to manage the flow of customers, appointments will make the experience safer for both customers and staff amid COVID-19.
Appointments can be booked up to two weeks in advance for services such as accessible parking permits and replacing a health card.
Service Ontario “strongly” recommends that people only book in-person appointments if necessary. More than 40 services, including driver’s licence renewals and licence plate sticker renewals, are available online.
Anyone who does require an appointment should complete a COVID-19 screening before arriving. Masks must be worn and physical distancing maintained while in a Service Ontario centre.
“By offering appointment booking and online options, we aim to make renewals and other key services easier and safer for customers and staff at Service Ontario,” said Lisa Thompson, Minister of Government and Consumer Services.
“I encourage Ontarians to take advantage of these options to save time… and help protect our communities.”
