Person suffers serious injuries from "large" fire in downtown Toronto

The Toronto Police Service reported that an individual has suffered serious injuries from a fire in a downtown Toronto neighbourhood.

On Saturday, police reported that a “large” fire at 12 pm at Wellesley Street and Bleecker Street on the 12 floor in a unit.

At 12:49, the police reported that the fire was out and that two victims in total were located—with one reporting “serious injuries” where they were taken to hospital, and the other victim reporting “less serious” injuries.

Wellesley Street was closed as fire crews worked to put out the fire.
