May 31 2019, 3:30 am

In anticipation of a packed weekend of events in the city—no, not just the Raptors Game 2 on Sunday—the City of Toronto has issued notification of a few road closures taking place throughout the city.

Plan ahead, Toronto.

Riverside Eats & Beats Streetfest

On Saturday, June 1, this street festival will come with a series of full road closures. Broadview Avenue south of Queen Street East will be closed from 6 am to 11:30 pm. Portions of McGee Street, Saulter Street, Munro Street and Carroll Street near Queen Street East will also be closed from 9 am to 8 pm. You can find a map of these closures here.

Pape Village Summerfest

Pape Avenue will be closed from Mortimer Avenue to Gamble Avenue on Saturday, June 1 from 8 am to 10 pm. You can find a map of these closures here.

Ride for Heart

The Manulife Ride for Heart cycle on the Gardiner this Sunday will close the Gardiner Expressway from South Kingsway to the Don Valley Parkway (including all ramps) and the Don Valley Parkway from the Gardiner Expressway to York Mills Road will be completely closed on Sunday, June 2 from 2 am to 2 pm.

Toronto Raptors tailgate and viewing party

On Sunday, June 2, Maple Leaf Square (Bremner Boulevard from Lake Shore Boulevard West to York Street) will be closed from 7 am to midnight, as well as York Street between Lake Shore Boulevard West and Front Street, and Bremner Boulevard between Lower Simcoe Street and York Street, from 1 pm to midnight. For a more detailed map, view the closures here.

A significant amount of road work is also still taking place throughout the weekend. And the city is encouraging the public to take public transportation for a greener, faster, and more affordable way around.
