While it may be normal to be under a winter weather advisory this time of year, it’s not often you see a risk of thunderstorm in early February.
Environment Canada has issued a freezing drizzle advisory for Toronto today, as temperatures are expected to warm up throughout the evening.
According to the weather agency, it is expected to reach a high of 0°C on Thursday, but by this evening, temperatures are expected to rise all the way to 7°C.
The warmth isn’t expected to last long, as temperatures will dip back and will feel closer to -11°C tonight.

But in the midst of the hefty temperature swing, there’s a risk of thunderstorms in Toronto tonight.
And of course, with the thunderstorm, there will be rain… but that is a welcome change from all the freezing weather we’ve been experiencing.
Being February, expect the temperatures to dip back down to -5°C by the weekend.
