Risk of thunderstorms in the forecast for Toronto this weekend

There’s a chance of rain and a risk of thunderstorms in Toronto over the weekend.

According to Environment Canada, both Saturday, August 15, and Sunday, August 16, are expected to be hot, but both days could see rain, thunder, and lightening.

Saturday is expected to be sunny in the morning and early into the afternoon, followed by a mix of sun and cloud with a 30% chance of showers and a risk of thunderstorms.

Overall, the agency is calling for a high 28ºC, but that will feel like 33ºC with the humidex, and a UV index 8 — considered “very high.”

Things will cool down to 19ºC at night, though the chance of rain and thunderstorms persists.

Sunday comes with clouds and a greater chance of rain (40%) in the morning, though showers are expected in the afternoon along with a risk of thunderstorms.

It will be slightly cooler throughout the day, with a high of 26ºC that’s expected to feel like 32ºC with the humidex.

The night will come with cloudly periods, a low of 16ºC, and a 60% chance of showers.

The coming week should bring some respite from the rain as Monday and Tuesday are expected to see some clouds, with a high of 25ºC and 23ºC respectively, according to Daily Hive’s weather tracker, with the rain forecast to return on Wednesday.
