Early returns on NBA All-Star fan voting are looking favourable for Toronto Raptors star Pascal Siakam.

Spicy P is third in votes among Eastern Conference front-court options, behind reigning NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid.

Siakam has 544,302 votes already, which puts him ahead of the likes of Jimmy Butler (Miami Heat) and Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics).

Siakam, who is currently out of the Raptors lineup with a groin injury, has taken another step this season. The 25-year-old is averaging 25.1 points per game, to go with 8.0 rebounds, and 3.6 assists.

Celtics fans appear to be making a push for Tacko Fall, the 7-foot-5 rookie centre who rarely sees on-court action. Fall is currently sixth in voting among Eastern Conference frontcourt players.

Siakam’s teammate, Kyle Lowry, is also among the voting leaders. Lowry is eighth in votes (154,139) among Eastern Conference guards.

The overall NBA All-Star voting leader is currently Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks, who has 1,073,957 votes. LeBron James is the frontcourt leader in the West, with 1,020,851 votes.

Former Raptors star Kawhi Leonard is third (740,657) among Western Conference frontcourt players — ranking behind a pair of Lakers (James and Anthony Davis).

Chicago is hosting the 2020 NBA All-Star Game, which takes place February 16 at the United Center. Fans account for 50% of the vote to determine the 10 starters (three frontcourt players and two guards per Conference), with players (25%) and media (25%) accounting for the other half. Voting will continue until January 20, with reserves selected at a later date.
