Police issue Public Safety Alert after knife found in Toronto playground

Toronto Police issued a public safety alert on Tuesday after a knife was found in a children’s playground.

According to police, on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at approximately 8:30 am, officers responded to a suspicious incident radio call in the Danforth Avenue and Broadview Avenue area.

It is reported that a knife was located in a children’s play area, and police say those using the facilities could have been harmed by the knife.

Officers removed the knife from the scene.

“While this is believed to be an isolated incident, we would encourage all parents and care givers to check playground areas and pay special attention to play structures including swings, slides, and climbing equipment before they are used,” said police.
