Project Ramadan is celebrating 10 years in the bag!

The North York-based initiative has fed 15,000 families and raised over one million dollars to date and to celebrate, it’s hosting a night of community and comedy featuring performances by Toronto native Nemahsis and stand up from Hasan Minhaj, Senior Correspondent of The Daily Show with Trevor Noah and star of the Netflix special Homecoming King.

Operating under The Muslim Welfare Centre of Toronto, Project Ramadan annually “fundraises, assembles and distributes food baskets to help families in need regardless of race, religion or ethnicity.”

Food basket building events hosted across Ontario aim to engage communities and alleviate food insecurity across Canada through partnerships with local food banks, shelters, first nations organizations, and more.
