Police searching for suspect in violent abduction caught on camera (VIDEO)

York Regional Police’s Major Crime Bureau is looking for assistance in identifying a suspect following an apparent abduction in Richmond Hill.

According to police, on Thursday, August 23, 2018, at 2:50 am, a female victim rang a doorbell at a residence located in the area of High Tech Road and Silver Linden Drive.

The door was not answered, but video surveillance shows an unknown male suspect, armed with what appears to be a handgun, exiting a vehicle parked out front on the roadway, police say.

In the video, the suspect appears to have an altercation with the victim on the front porch of the residence and dragged her back to his vehicle by her hair and drove away. The male can be heard in the video threatening to kill the victim.

The suspect is described as male, with short hair, wearing a hoodie, and possibly armed with a handgun.

Investigators are appealing to anyone who may know the suspect or the victim to contact police immediately with any information. Police are also appealing to any nearby businesses or residences that may have video surveillance, or any drivers who may have been in the area at the time with dashcam footage to please come forward.
