If you’ve ever wanted to be a pet owner, now’s your chance.
This month, select Canadian PetSmart locations will be putting pets in need up for adoption and are encouraging people to adopt as part of National Pet Adoption Weekend.
From May 17 to 19, 250 Canadian animal welfare organizations will bring adorable, adoptable pets into nearly every one of PetSmart’s 130-plus stores across the country.
The event organizers said the goal for the weekend is to find lifelong, loving homes for 2,114 shelter pets, including dogs, cats, kittens, puppies, and various small pets.

- Friday, May 17: 9 am to 9 pm
- Saturday, May 18: 9 am to 9 pm
- Sunday, May 19: 10 am to 6 pm
Regardless of which type of pet you choose to adopt, or where you adopted from, all new pet owners will receive a free adoption kit that provides important content that helps to integrate a new pet into the family.
Not to mention, each animal is spayed and neutered prior to adoption, giving you added peace of mind as you search for your new best friend.
By adopting, you can save a life while enriching your own. So if you’ve been considering bringing home a little fur ball, there’s no better time than this weekend.
