55-year-old former hockey coach charged with sexual assault

Peel Regional Police’s Special Victims Unit have charged a 55-year-old former hockey coach following a sexual assault investigation.

According to investigators, a young victim recently came forward regarding ongoing incidents of inappropriate text messages.

Police say the incidents began in the spring of 2018 and lead to an arrest on December 3, 2019.

Eduart Pacheco from Brampton has been charged with Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference, and Criminal Harassment.

Investigators say Pacheco was a hockey coach for a youth hockey team in the City of Brampton and has also coached youth baseball in the City of Brampton.

They believe that there may be additional victims.

Police are asking anyone that has had contact with Eduart Pacheco and believe they have been the victim of a criminal offence, to contact officers from the Special Victims Unit.
