It’s the dawn of the decade, and here’s hoping you’ve got big plans for it.

If we can offer one recommendation, it would be to get outside. And Parks Canada wants to help one Canadian demographic do exactly that, for free.

In light of #resolutionSZN, this is a reminder that admission to all national parks, historic sites, and marine conservation areas operated by Parks Canada is free of charge for youth aged 17 and under.

While the entrance fee is waived at Parks Canada attractions, regular fees still apply for experiences and services including camping and accommodations, excursion permits, backcountry camping, Canadian Rockies Hot Springs, lockage, mooring, reservation fees, guided tours and hikes, and firewood.

Free admission for youth only applies to places managed by Parks Canada. It does not apply to provincial parks, territorial parks, municipal and private parks, nor to the many historic sites not managed by Parks Canada.

The website urges guests to refer to the full list of Parks Canada places before you plan your visit to take advantage of free admission for youth.
