World-renowned Korean bakery chain to open in new Toronto neighbourhood

World-renowned Korean bakery chain Paris Baguette is gearing up to open its latest Toronto location, this time taking on a brand-new neighbourhood.

Despite opening its first Canadian location at the Yonge-Sheppard Centre in North York just over two years ago, Paris Baguette has more than made its mark on Toronto’s culinary scene.

Over its nearly 40 years in business, the South Korea-founded global chain has made a name for itself serving up sweet confections that are almost as delightful to look at as they are to eat, including mochi donuts, impeccably layered trifles, cream-filled croissants, and bombolone.

They even serve up some unique savoury options, like croissant-wrapped hot dogs and crabmeat-filled croquettes.

Nowadays, the chain, recognized as one of the top 500 franchises in the world by Entrepreneur, boasts 4000 locations worldwide, including the two additional locations that have opened in the city in the years that followed: a Yorkville flagship (110 Bloor St. W.) and a location at Yonge and Eglinton.

Good news for Toronto: the city is getting yet another location, and this time the chain is breaking ground in a neighbourhood they had yet to venture to.

The latest Toronto neighbourhood to get the Paris Baguette treatment is Etobicoke, with a new location slated to open at 171 North Queen St., just up the road from Sherway Gardens.

It’ll soon be joined by another new location at 248 Steeles Ave. in Thornhill, marking the 12th and 13th locations for the chain in Canada.

While the exact opening date for the bakery’s latest location is under wraps for now, a listing on Paris Baguette’s website claims the Etobicoke location is “coming soon,” which can only mean one thing: it can’t be much longer.
