So much for drive-in movie nights! Ontario Place has announced the cancellation of its drive-in movies following the government’s 28-day provincial “shutdown.”

According to Ontario Place, all ticket holders who have purchased will be refunded.

“Following the announcement from the Province on April 1st, the Drive-In will be closed as of April 3rd,” said Ontario Place on Twitter.

“All ticket holders will be refunded automatically, however, in the event that we are unable to process your refund, our customer service department will be in touch.”

On April 1, the Ontario government announced that starting April 3 the province would move into a 28-day province-wide shutdown as COVID-19 infections and ICU admissions continue to rise.

Ontario Place will stay open for physical activities such as biking, walking, and running.

“The park will remain open for walking, running, and biking. Visitors must practise physical distancing and be respectful of others using the park,” said Ontario Place.

“Under the Province’s Shutdown Order, a social gathering or organized public event of more than five people is prohibited.”
