Those looking to take the subway this weekend should be advised that there will be no service on a portion of Line 2 due to track work.

According to the TTC, on Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2, there will be no subway service on the portion of Line 2 between St George and Woodbine stations.

Service will resume on Monday at 6 am, though be operating on a holiday schedule due to the August holiday.

Replacement shuttle buses will run frequently, stopping at each station along the route. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations, which will vary from station to station.

As a result of the work Bay, Sherbourne, and Chester stations will all be closed, as will the automatic entrance/exit at Pape Station on Lipton Avenue. All other stations will remain open for fare sales and access to surface routes.

Customers requiring Wheel-Trans should speak to any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete infrastructure and ATC upgrades, according to the transit company.
