Montreal’s Dunn’s Famous opening a new deli in Toronto

Montreal smoked meat specialist Dunn’s Famous is setting up shop in Toronto… again.
The chain of Quebec-based delis formerly operated an outpost on King West across from Roy Thomson Hall but currently isn’t represented at all in Toronto. According to a recent AGCO application, a new outpost going in on The Danforth will change all that.
The restaurant will take over the address formerly home to Thai One On, east of Coxwell.

For the uninitiated, the menu at Dunn’s deals sky-high piles of old-fashioned smoked meat on rye bread, club sandwiches, Reubens, poutine and other deli staples. Expect to find a wide range of classics – like latkes and matzoh ball soup – peppered with signature creations like the smoked meat fried rice.
