MLB insider Ken Rosenthal is offering up his apologies after a controversial incident over the weekend.
Rosenthal, who serves as an on-field reporter for MLB on FOX, was interviewing Milwaukee Brewers infielder Andruw Monasterio, before going viral. Monasterio got doused by his teammates with a Gatorade bucket, which is now commonplace in post-game interviews, early into the one-on-one interview.
As Rosenthal back-pedalled out of the way to avoid being drenched himself, he accidentally knocked over Brewers photographer Scott Paulus, who was kneeling behind him.

The incident quickly went viral, with fans noting how displeased Rosenthal seemed. Rosenthal appeared to give the photographer a look of disgust and didn’t help him up.
Many took to social media to blast Rosenthal.
How is this normal human behavior?? If you accidently run into someone and turn around and see the person on their back on the ground you quickly offer them an apology and help them up & maybe laugh with them.. you don’t glare at them like this and walk away.. what the HECK? pic.twitter.com/OEITfDS3Sw

Rosenthal spoke about it Monday morning in an appearance on Foul Territory. While noting that he apologized afterward to Paulus, he also said the look of the video didn’t dictate the thoughts that were going through his head in real time.
“I must admit, when I looked at the video, when I saw this, I was surprised at how upset I appeared,” Rosenthal explained. “I was more confused than anything. Now, I had to continue the interview. We were live, folks, on national television, couldn’t stop.
“That said, I felt awful about what happened. Afterward, I went up to Scott, who I’ve worked with in pits before over the years, and I apologized. I apologized profusely because, let’s face it, I don’t think you ever expect knocking someone down is going to happen in any particular situation.”

Rosenthal went on to explain that he won’t be seeing the Brewers again this season unless they advance to the World Series. If he does see them, he said that he looks forward to sharing a laugh with Paulus over the viral incident.
