Ex-husband wanted in connection to woman found dead in Brampton

The body of a Toronto woman who was reported missing on Sunday has been located in Brampton.

According to Peel Regional Police, on Monday, January 13, at 5:49 pm, officers responded to a green space in the area of Nexus Avenue and Fogal Road for a report that a deceased person had been located.

Police confirmed the information, and began an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death, which was determined to be suspicious.

Peel police identified the deceased as 28-year-old Heeral Patel.

On January 12, Toronto Police reported Patel missing, saying she was last seen on January 11 near Islington Avenue and Steeles Avenue West.

Investigators say the suspect in the incident is Patel’s ex-husband, Rakeshbhai Patel, a 36-year-old man from Toronto.

Police are encouraging him to contact a lawyer and arrange to turn himself in.
