Non-essential businesses across Ontario were ordered to close by Premier Doug Ford earlier this week, and now, shopping malls in Toronto are following suit.
Several shopping centres in Toronto have announced their closure — for 14 days or until further notice — save for “essential” retailers.
Dufferin Mall announced that it would be closed until further notice as of today, March 25.

Further, Cadillac Farview shopping centres across Ontario, including the Eaton Centre and Sherway Gardens, are now closed, save for essential shops. CF malls in Montreal and Moncton have also shuttered, except for essential retailers.
Clients that remain open at these shopping centres, according to CF, “are largely those providing essential services such as pharmacies, grocery stores, banks, and food services.”
