Lululemon's SeaWheeze half marathon goes virtual this year

Aug 20 2020, 5:30 pm

Lululemon’s SeaWheeze event is back, but this year’s half marathon will look a little different.

The event will take place virtually this year and will also include a 10 kilometre run, for those who don’t want to take part in the full half marathon of 21.1 kilometres.

The best part about the way the event will be virtually run is that everyone gets to choose their own course. People from all over the world are invited to lace up their sneakers and run, walk, use a treadmill or a wheelchair.

Quinton Jacobs, a Community Ambassador representing Lululemon, decided to run his SeaWheeze virtual marathon by Sprucecourt Public School in Toronto, because “the work he is doing there is close to his heart and fills him up.”

Jacobs also loves the diversity of running as a sport. “It’s the kind of sport that can always meet me where I am. If I need to push myself, I can. If I need space to dial back and reflect, I can,” he said.

You can register to participate in the virtual run until August 23. The SeaWheeze costs 38$ USD and guests will receive a finisher medal in the mail. A donation of $2 will also be made to Vinyasa Yoga for Youth and Red Clay Yoga.

“Make a weekend run goal and sign up for SeaWheeze Virtual.”
