Canadian scores $40 million Lotto Max jackpot
A lucky Canadian Lotto Max player is now a brand-new multimillionaire after winning the jackpot.
The Lotto Max draw took place on Tuesday, Oct. 28, and the winning numbers were 06, 14, 17, 19, 26, 43, and 45, with bonus 27. One lottery player managed to match all seven numbers, thereby winning the $40 million top prize.
“It’s not a trick but a generous early Halloween treat for someone — a Lotto Max player in Ontario!” states a release from OLG. “The $40 million jackpot-winning ticket from last night’s draw was sold somewhere in Grey County!”

No one won the second prize worth $164,079; however, 34 lottery players will split the third prize, with each one receiving $4,825.90.
Someone in Vancouver is now $500,000 richer after winning the Lotto Max Extra prize, according to PlayNow. No one in Ontario won the $1 million Encore top prize.
According to OLG, it’s the sixth time in 2025 that the Lotto Max jackpot was won in Ontario. Previous wins include:
- a $60 million jackpot from the Jan. 21 draw. The ticket was sold in Etobicoke.
- a $25 million jackpot from the Jan. 31 draw. The ticket was sold in Willowdale.
- a $40 million jackpot from the Feb. 21 draw. The ticket was sold in Oshawa.
- a $65 million jackpot from the March 28 draw. The ticket was sold in Newmarket.
- a $75 million jackpot from the Aug. 19 draw. The ticket was sold in Kingston.
Before Tuesday night’s win, the most recent Lotto Max jackpot win was on Oct. 7, when a lottery player won the $15 million jackpot. According to WCLC, the ticket was purchased in Edmonton, Alta.
Hoping to try your luck? The next Lotto Max draw will take place on Halloween, Friday, Oct. 31, and the top prize is worth $10 million.
