Two Loblaw company employees who work at different GTA supermarkets have recently tested positive for COVID-19.

One of the cases has been confirmed at the Loblaws located in Forest Hill in Toronto. The other is at John’s No Frills in Newmarket.

“Both stores are taking all necessary precautions, working with the local public health units. We’ve taken a number of steps to minimize risk, including increased sanitization protocols and enforcing social distancing practices in the store,” the company told Daily Hive in a statement.

“The stores were closed overnight for a thorough cleaning and have since reopened.”

The company also says that they have been in touch with the employees who work closely with those affected, and they have been asked to self-isolate and monitor for symptoms.

On Tuesday, Loblaw announced that going forward, healthcare workers will receive priority entrance to their stores across the country.
